My brother, the graduate

Well, after working my bum off at the office all week, I was able to take a little break and head up to Rexburg on Thursday to watch my little brother graduate from high school. *sniff, sniff* I was happy to see my little guys again. They'd been having fun at Grandma and Grandpa's all week long.



After a yummy dinner at the Thai restaurant to celebrate Tom's big day, we headed home to let the little guys have a snack before the graduation (they weren't so into the Thai food). Evan had been talking for weeks about how he was going to race grandpa, so we took this opportunity to finally do it. They raced around the house.

My mom is going to hate this pic because she looks like she's about to blink, but I think it's a really great picture of my dad, so I figured I'd make up for the one in this post. ;)

It was a short visit, but I'm glad I got to go and see the graduation. I'm so proud of my brother and all that he's accomplished.

Craziness!

We've had a crazy week around here. We ended up having a lot of trouble with our office manager and finally let her go last week. I'm filling in at the office full time for now and I don't know how working moms do it, I have to say. I'm so exhausted and it's practically impossible to keep up with the house work! Plus, we decided not to go the day care route, so the kids are at the office with us, which makes for some fun adventures. They are staying with my parents this week, though, which has been a nice break (thanks Mom!).

We are also opening up a second location! Ben will be renting a room in E3 Healing Center down in Brigham City and he'll have office hours down there during the times when our office in Logan is closed (Tuesday and Thursday mornings, as well as by appointment on Saturdays). We've been painting and decorating the room and passing out fliers, and Ben will get started adjusting this weekend. We're really excited about this opportunity!

My little soccer player

Soccer season has come to an end for Evan. Is it bad that I'm a little relieved? I'm looking forward to having my weekday evenings back. Evan LOVED it, though, and got the hang of it pretty quickly. I took a few pictures on Saturday at his last game.

This age group is so funny to watch because they don't really "get" soccer... they just know they're supposed to kick the ball into the goal. So, they all cluster around the ball, and there's lots of things like pushing and kicking the ball in the wrong direction or scoring int he wrong goal...

They did make some progress, though, and were learning to pass each other the ball by the end of the season. Evan will definitely be looking forward to playing again next year!

A day that will go down in history...

Some of you may know that Ben has been very picky about Asher's hair. For a while, he would NOT let me get it cut. Finally, he gave in and said it could be trimmed, but only a little bit. A few days ago, a miracle happened: Ben decided it was time for Asher to get a "summer" hair cut. I guess Asher's soaking wet, matted, sweaty hair after taking off the bike helmet finally got to him.

So, without further ado, I give you the summer hair cut:


I think it makes him look so much younger, and definitely more like Evan. I also think it's super cute. :)

The other night, Asher and I went for a walk together, just us. It was fun to spend some time alone with the little guy. We took a few pictures, too, so if you want a "before" picture, here it is:




As a side note: I often have people ask me how I get Asher to smile so well for the camera, since this age is notoriously hard to photograph. The answer is that I take 7,364 pictures like these:

Mother's Day

I hope all you wonderful mommies out there had a fabulous Mother's Day! Mine was wonderful... I got to sleep in a little and then Ben made me brownies:

He even left them soft the way I like them! (He likes them cooked until they're dry and the sides are crunchy. Ewww.) After church, Ben made dinner and then we all went down to Brigham city to visit the graves of Ben's mom and Grandma Davis with the rest of the family (forgot my camera, of course).

It was a lovely day and I'm so grateful to be a mommy! My boys make me smile every day and I love them so much. I have a pretty great husband, too. :)

More Spring

It's actually been really cold here (30s) and not very spring-like at all. We even woke up to snow a few days last week. All the little spring buds and blossoms are holding out, though, and our trusty tulips are still blooming. I just love spring, even if it is cold.

I'm still being a bad blogger, and it's only because we're still leading very boring lives. :) It's about time for some new pictures of the boys, though, so be on the lookout for those, if I ever get a chance to take them.
