DIRT!

Anyone who knows my boys knows that they are ALL BOY. I once read a quote that said "A boy is a noise with dirt on it." This is so true of my little guys.

Today, we went out in the yard to plant some basil seeds.

(We'll see if they grow... I tend to kill every plant I try to nurture.)

The boys were SO excited to do this and had been looking forward to it for days. When we finally did it, it lasted all of 2 minutes and wasn't really very exciting. So, I pulled out the plastic buckets and digging toys and let them go at it in the back yard. They were in little boy heaven! :)

The inevitable...

We got a call from one of the counselors in the bishopric this morning asking if Ben and I could meet with him before church. Uh oh. We all know what that means. We've already had to give talks. We knew it was only a matter of time before the callings came.

Ben has been called to teach the sunbeams in primary. I hope that doesn't mean that Evan is the unruly kid in class. Isn't that what it usually means when you get called to teach your own kid's class? :)

I've been called as the Personal Progress adviser in Young Women's. I will be in charge of the Tuesday night activities twice a month and will also be spotlighting one of the young women every other week. I'm really excited to be working with the young women, but I'm also really nervous! It will be an opportunity for personal growth, that's for sure!

Buddies

I love that my boys are such good friends. It's so fun to watch them interact with each other. They do their fair share of fighting and teasing, too, of course, but most of all they are best friends. :)

I love this one because it looks like Asher is telling Evan a secret.

Houses

....because you're probably sick of seeing my kids. ;)

One of my favorite things to do while I'm walking around Logan is to look at the cool old houses. We live right next to West Center Street which is the historical district. Today, I took some pictures of some of my favorites. Look at these awesome houses!

This one is a little hard to see because of the trees, but I couldn't leave it out. :)

And this one isn't big and fancy, but I like how it looks old and is made out of that cool stone.

Don't worry... I took some pics of the kids today, too. ;)

Backyard fun!

We are thoroughly enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having lately! The boys and I have been taking walks like crazy (mostly because we have nothing else to do!). We also love playing in the back yard. Sometimes our friend James from next door comes to play, too! Our afternoons are filled with bubbles, playing ball, swings, and popsicles. We love spring!

Opening Day!

There's not really a whole lot to tell. We aren't doing our ribbon cutting, etc. until a little bit later. But, Ben had 4 patents scheduled and three of them showed up. We figure that's pretty good for our first day! He has 4 patients scheduled for today (three of them are the patients from yesterday who are coming back for their "report of findings" visit).

Ben says things are going really well, so I think we're off to a good start! :)

Family Picnic!

The weather is GORGEOUS here this week (finally!!), so we decided to get out and enjoy it. We took a picnic dinner to the park this evening. It was so much fun! The boys had a blast.

The slides were probably the favorite, as always:

Whee!!!

Those slides give Asher MAJOR static! LOL

This thing was a favorite, too. Especially for Asher.

Cool big doors

We found this building on a walk a little while ago. It's an old, empty brick building with these awesome doors!

Pictures of the Office

I finally went in and took some pictures of the office yesterday so you all could see.

Here's the front entrance into the reception room:

The rest of the reception room (what you would see if you are standing just inside the door). There will be a big painting above the couch, as soon as we can find one:

Another view of the treatment room (and more of my pictures). We are going to have a big, 30 inch clock on that empty wall:

This is the other side of the treatment room. It has the massage table, the exercise balls, etc. (Those things on the floor are goody baskets that Ben has been delivering to local businesses):

This is the X-ray room. The mural was already there and Ben decided to keep it.

The only other rooms (besides bathrooms and closets) are Ben's office/consultation room (which was really messy, so I didn't take a picture of it), and another room that is currently empty. We are hoping to get a massage therapist into it as soon as possible.

We're so excited about how well it has all come together!! We are planning to open our doors on Monday.

Another bit of good news. Between the goody baskets and a booth Ben set up at Utah State today, we have FIFTEEN new patients scheduled already!! Woo hoo!! :)

Easter goodies!

Well, here are couple pics of Easter morning, as promised. I wanted to get some pics of the Easter egg hunt (in our living room) because the kids were having so much fun, but they were SO excited and moving SO fast, all I got was half of a face, or a blurry streak running by. LOL

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter !!!

I have no cute Easter pictures of the kids (I know, the world is ending, right?). Ben and I spoke in church today and I was too busy this weekend trying to get my talk together. I got some fun snapshots of the boys with their Easter baskets this morning, so I'll post those when I get to them.

Hope you all had a fabulous Easter! Remember what it's *really* about. :) I was glad to have to give a talk today because it made me really ponder the subject of our Savior's atonement. What a blessing!

Coloring Easter Eggs!!

Wow, my third post in 24 hours.... probably some kind of record for me.

Tonight we colored Easter eggs! The boys had fun and only one egg was broken. I'd consider that a success!

Asher couldn't keep his hands off of them... I'm surprised he didn't break any!

The boys are SO excited for the easter bunny to come! It's all they've been talking about today.

We hope you all have a fantastic Easter!!!

A feast on the throne

My kids like to play in the bathroom while I do my hair and makeup in the morning. Usually, they like to comb their own hair, or sometimes they will bring a toy in. I don't pay much attention to them, as long as they're not getting into the lotion or the soap. (Hey, it takes concentration to make myself this beautiful! Haha... right.)

Yesterday morning, I looked over and saw this:

317/365- Bathroom feast

Asher had brought his cereal and sippy cup upstairs to be in the bathroom with me. He had pulled his stool right up and plopped himself down to eat. LOL

I promise, he was made to promptly remove himself and his food from the bathroom. It goes without saying that I had to take a quick picture first, though. :)

Biz Update

I've had a few questions from people about how the business is shaping up, so I figured I'd better do another update post...

We are planning to have the grand opening for Body Balance Chiropractic on Monday, April 20th!!! We were hoping to open on Wednesday, but we didn't realize that the inspection by the fire department (which we had yesterday) and the building inspection are two separate things, so that pushes us back a couple days.

We have our office *almost* all set up! The remodeling/painting/carpet is all done. We have all our furniture and most of the decor (the last of which should be arriving tommorrow). It looks awesome!

The next few days are going to be BUSY! Tomorrow, Ben and his good friend will be setting up the computer network and software. On Tuesday, we will receive our adjusting tables and we will also be having our x-ray machine installed. On Wednesday, we will have our building inspection.

We have hired an office manager/secretary/CA and she started on Monday. She and Ben have been taking goody baskets around to local businesses to introduce themselves and pass out business cards (as well as getting the office set up and finalizing patient flow and paperwork).

We are still working on getting a sign up on the building, but we finally got a temporary banner up this week so that at least people can see who we are!

Ummmm..... anything else I'm missing? Probably. LOL Things have been so crazy for us the past couple of weeks. As soon as we get the finishing touches done, I'll take pictures of the office to post. Stay tuned! :)

Bath tub artists

Grandpa and Grandma Johansen got Asher some bath tub crayons for his birthday, so last night we decided to try them out. They were a hit!

Evan mostly enjoyed coloring on himself, but he took a break to practice his name.
