2 months old

I take TONS of pictures of Ellie and I don't want to flood the blog with all of them, so I figure I'll do a monthly post with some of my favorites. :)

Ellie is 2 months old today. I don't know where the time has gone, but it doesn't seem possible! She's as sweet as can be, smiling all the time and even laughing now. She has started trying to touch things and has gotten good at getting her hands up to her mouth whenever she wants to. She also likes to watch her feet, although I'm not sure she realizes yet that they are attached to her. :)

I made this thing to hang her bows/flowers/headbands on because I was tired of rummaging around in the drawer for them. She gives it huge smiles every single time she lays on the changing table.

Wii tournament

We haven't had a TV since we moved here to Washington. Last weekend when my laptop wasn't working, I didn't know what to do with myself. I couldn't edit pictures or scrapbook or do any of the things I usually do in the evenings after the kids go to bed. To remedy my boredom, I ran to Goodwill and picked out a cheap TV so that I could hook up the Wii and watch shows on Netflix. When the boys woke up the next morning and saw the TV with the Wii all set up, you would have thought it was Christmas morning!

So, that evening, I challenged everyone to a family Wii tournament.

We all had a good time. All of us except Ellie.... she wasn't too interested. ;)

The boys especially enjoyed themselves.

The kids were here | week 2

I'm a bit late with these, but my laptop was dead over the weekend. I didn't realize how much I use my laptop until I couldn't use it anymore!

Can I just say how much I'm loving this project? Because I am. :)

The Blue Angels

On Thursday, I got a text from a friend (hi Alanna!) asking if we wanted to go watch the Blue Angels practice from 10 to noon. Unfortunately, we don't get going as early as we used to these days, so it was too late, but luckily there was another practice at 1:30, so I thought it would be a fun thing for the boys to see.

We packed up a lunch and headed to a park along the shore of Lake Washington to watch. Part of the time they were just kind of flying around (I overheard someone saying they had to fly around and pick out landmarks, etc.), but they did do a few stunts throughout the practice and the boys just loved it.

After this picture, Evan told me, "Mom, that's the best I can do for a smile because it's too sunny."

I guess Asher felt the same way.

The plane is long gone in this one, but you can see the loop-the-loop it left behind.

If you look close in this one, you can see that the plane is upside down!

The kids were here | week 1

I've been itching to do more photography lately. Not just snapshots of my kids, but something more involved. I need a creative outlet.

I was inspired by a very talented friend who did a project called "kids were here". I totally fell in love with it and decided it would be the perfect project for me right now.

For the month of August, I'll be taking one snapshot each day that documents my life with the kids.... without including the kids. I want to capture the little details that get left behind. The things I see after they've gone to bed that make me smile.

So here we go with the first week of August...

Smiles

Ellie has been giving us little smiles every now and then for a while now, but lately she's been breaking out into huge beaming smiles quite regularly.

It just melts my heart. :)

She can be quite the little stinker in the evenings. She gets pretty fussy and she usually doesn't go to bed until 1 am.

When I drag myself out of bed in the morning and she smiles at me... well, those adorable grins kinda make it all worth it.

By the way, we had our 6 week check up on Tuesday and my little chunky monkey already weighs 10 lbs 6 oz!!
