We enjoyed a beautiful drive across the sound and around the north side of the peninsula to get to La Push (of Twilight fame). The weather was in the mid 70s, but breezy. Too cold for swimming in the ocean if you ask me, but apparently not for the boys. They spent the whole time running in and out of the waves and yelling their heads off. They were in heaven!
Ellie wasn't so sure about the water, but she loved the sand.

She also enjoyed watching her crazy brothers.

The guys discovering treasures on the beach.

Asher found a crab shell.

Evan got buried. (Asher did, too, but I must have been chasing Ellie down the beach or something because I didn't get a picture.)

The scenery was GORGEOUS. I could have just laid there on the blanket all day, taking in the beautiful view and listening to the waves.

When we decided we'd had our fill of sand and waves, we decided to hike down the huge rock pile next to us. We were hoping Ellie would fall asleep in the pack. She didn't, but she enjoyed the hike.

We made it all the way to the end! The kids did a great job climbing over all those boulders and driftwood logs.

We got a closer view of the island. Ben told the boys that it is the island that they have confined the zombies to. They spent part of the hike deciding what they'd do if they met a zombie.

We made it back to the beach tired and hungry, so we drove to Forks to have some dinner and check into our hotel. The boys got ready for bed (aka: stripped down to their undies) and watched the TV.

Ellie enjoyed playing with the coffee sweeteners.

On Sunday, we went to explore the rain forest..... I'll be back with Part Two soon! :)
