The beach

We finally live near the ocean, but we hadn't even been to the beach yet this summer! So, on Saturday afternoon, we decided to go. We packed up swimsuits and sand toys and headed to a place on the sound, not too far from home.



The kids had fun playing in the sand. Evan tried to build a sand castle, despite how rocky it was.


Ben enjoyed showing the boys some of the saltwater life that had washed up along the shore (barnacles and such).




And of course, there was a lot of playing in the water... but only by the boys because it was FREEZING!

Ben constructed a little shade for her with some driftwood and the nursing cover.


So, now we've finally been to the beach! Hopefully we'll make it there again before summer is over.
