We spent Christmas Eve with friends this year. The kids acted out the nativity and made cookies for Santa. The whole evening was full of yummy food, good company, and lots of excitement for the kids.... just the way Christmas Eve should be. We always miss our families at this time of the year, but we are blessed with wonderful friends who make being away a little easier.
When we got home, we opened our traditional Christmas Eve jammies.

We took it easy on Christmas Day this year.... staying at home in our PJ's all day, eating waffles for breakfast and ham and potatoes for dinner, playing with our new things and enjoying each other's company. We also roasted marshmallows in the fireplace this year, which was a new and exciting experience. It really was a nice, joyful day.

The bey blades were by FAR the biggest hit this year. The boys have played with them non-stop since Christmas!
Sweet Aria loves her new bouncer, which was fantastic news for me because she hates the swing!
I love this picure of Ellie sporting some of her new dress-up clothes and playing with the talking tea set she got from her cousin. Her brothers keep her interested in boyish stuff, but she's still a little girly, too. :)
And here we have the Christmas carnage. It's amazing how much mess just a few presents can make!
At this time of year, we are so grateful for all that we have and for the amazing blessing of the birth of our Savior. I didn't get a Christmas card out this year (for obvious reasons), but we do hope your family had a joyful holiday, and we wish you all peace and love in the new year!
