Weekend with my parents
The boys and I went up to visit with my parents this weekend. Ben was originally going to come, but because our office manager quit, he had to stay for an event on Saturday. :( The boys and I had lots of fun, though, even if Daddy couldn't come along.
The house behind my parents' has a sheep farm, so we took the kids over to see the baby lambs on Saturday morning. They loved it, and the little lambs were so cute!

My mom volunteers to foster animals until they can be adopted and right now she has these adorable puppies. Evan had so much fun running around the front yard with them.

He also enjoyed the tree house.

On Saturday afternoon, we went and played laser tag (and mini golf for grandma and the little kids), which was SO fun! I'm proud to say that I got 2nd place in 2 of the 3 games! I could never beat my brother, Thomas, but that's pretty much impossible, I think.
That night, we dropped the kids off at the babysitter and went to Glenn Miller Night. It's a night full of big band music, yummy food, and dancing. Thomas plays in the jazz band and did such an awesome job! He even had a solo.

I made it a point to take pictures of everyone (almost... I somehow missed my little sister, Jenna. :( Too bad, because she looked so pretty!). Some were a bit more willing than others. ;)
My parents:

(My dad is doing his cheesy smile... I got a normal one, but it was out of focus.)
My cute grandparents:

My brother and his wife, who are both very good dancers, by the way! Sam was nice enough to ask me to dance a few times, since I didn't have a partner. :)

My uncle Jonathan and his wife, Victoria. They were nice enough to drive me and the boys up there with them.

Me and my cousin, Crystal.

It was such a fun time, we almost didn't want to come home! We missed Ben, though, so we were glad to see him again. I think he even missed us, too. ;)

Telescopes and other stuff
I know I've been a bad blogger lately, but I've been super busy. Preschool, talks at church, meetings, events, photo editing, photo orders, basketball games, etc. None of it is stuff that is really very blog-worthy. We have also been spending as much time as possible outside in the lovely spring-ish weather. I can't even tell you how happy I am about that!
The other day, Evan kept insisting he wanted to make a telescope. I have no idea where that came from, but whatever... we made telescopes. Then, of course, we had to go for a walk and use them (and I, of course, had to take pictures).

I'm also happy to report that it is possible for me to actually grow something. I know, it's hard to believe, but I have proof:

My basil and spinach are actually sprouting! No sign of the peppers yet, but I'm still holding out hope. :)
Tonight, the boys and I went for a picnic. My real motive for the "picnic" was to get out and try to get some cute pictures of Asher because his birthday is coming up. It was fun, even though it was a bit cold. Evan said, "Mom, this is the best night ever!" If only I knew how little it took to give him his best night ever. LOL
I'll leave you with one little taste of those pictures, but I'm saving the rest to post on Asher's birthday. :)

Such a welcome sight!
These little buds pushed themselves up out of the ground a couple of days ago, and now they're in full bloom. It makes me SO happy to see them! Yay for spring!

I'm so excited to live in a house with a garden and tons of flower beds! I know it's going to be a lot of work, so we'll see if I'm singing the same tune by the end of the summer (or the beginning of the summer for that matter. Ha!), but I went out and cleared all the dead stuff out of the front yard and trimmed the cute ivy growing on our house and under all that gunk were more newly growing things. They look like tulips, which makes me really happy. I love tulips.
We went to Lowes for family night last night and bought a bunch of seeds for our garden. I'm starting a few of them inside and planted them today. I don't have a great track record for growing things, so send some good green-thumb vibes my way if you've got any! :)

Poor, abused Evan
A few days ago, Evan bonked his head on the bunk beds and got a huge goose egg and bruise to show for it. Just as it's starting to heal, he bonks his head on the brick outsid of our house and gets another goose egg and a scrape. The poor kid looks abused!

So sad. :(
In other news, Evan is all signed up for kindergarten! It was a long, horrible process of waiting in line forever and filling out a million pages of paper work. After we were done, Evan said, "That was fun!" lol I guess for him it was.... the kids got to play with toys while I was waiting/doing paperwork, and Evan got to go have an evaluation done (writing his name, identifying sounds of letters, etc.).
Evan is SO excited for kindergarten. He got a shirt that says "Kindergarten, here I come!" on it and he LOVES it. It was all I could do to convince him that he had to let me wash it. He asks me almost every day when school will start. It's going to be a long summer. :)

No photos
I find that I usually only post something if I have a picture to go with it, which means I end up leaving things out sometimes. So here are a few things that have been going on with us.... in non-picture form.
*Ben has been refereeing a lot of basketball games... usually a few on Tuesday night and a whole bunch on Saturday. He enjoys it and it earns him a bit of money to support his fish tank habit. :)
*Our office manager is quitting, so we are in the process of finding her replacement. She found a job with full benefits, so we can't really blame her, but still a bummer for us!
*We have been enjoying the warm(ish) weather... the kids and I go for a walk almost every day (if it's not raining).
*Now that most of the snow has melted, I'm determined to start running again. Hopefully announcing that on here will make me actually do it! I'm accountable for it now... you all hold me to it! :)
*On Friday, I drove down to Salt Lake to meet one of my online photographer friends, which was a lot of fun!
*I have been participating in The Amazing Digi Scrap Race with Meggan and was also asked to join another Creative Team (I get the designer's digital scrapbooking products for free in exchange for doing layouts with them and promoting them).
*I had a newborn session with my friend Becca's baby on Thursday and captured some of my very favorite newborn images so far! {Go take a peek!}
