I took the boys to spend their birthday money last week. One of the things Evan chose was a big styrofoam glider and one of the things Asher chose was a kite. Perfect for a sunny spring Saturday! So, off we went to the big field behind Evan's school (about a block from our apartment).

Evan had fun doing it by himself for a while.

Meanwhile, Daddy helped Asher get his kite flying.

Then, Daddy took a turn with the glider and figured out how to make it do loop-the-loops!

Of course the boys wanted to try out each other's toys, so after a while they switched.

By the end, the glider had broken into pieces, so the inevitable chasing and wrestling followed.

Asher was still perfectly content to run around with his kite.

I even ran around with the kite a bit (keeping the camera firmly around my own neck so there could be no pictures of this). It's been a long time since I've flown a kite and it was pretty fun, although my pregnant body was not happy with me later.
What a fun way to spend a spring Saturday afternoon! :)
