Overdue

I am now five days past my due date, and I think they have been the longest five days of my life. Apparently this little princes has already decided to do things her own way. :)

It's not so much the overdue part that is bothering me, since I'm actually not horribly uncomfortable at the end of this pregnancy like I was with my boys. Instead, it's the waiting... and wondering... and not knowing... and timing every contraction because it could happen any minute.

For five whole days.

I even dream about going into labor while I'm sleeping. I think I might be slowly driving myself crazy!

So, today I made crib sheets.

(You can't tell in the picture, but they have little brown polka dots all over. It's one of the fabrics that is in the quilt I made.)

I figured I needed a project to keep myself busy and this was one I have been putting off. Unfortunately, it didn't take me very long so now I guess I need to come up with another project. Maybe I'll make hair bows until I go into labor.

Little miss could end up having a LOT of hair bows.

Bath pictures

I FINALLY got the bath pictures I took for the bathroom wall printed. I'm glad it took me forever, though, because not only could I use my new silhouette to spiff the whole thing up a little, but I found these cute blue frames at IKEA and they just happen to match our shower curtain. Yay for procrastination! :)

I don't know what it is about bath pictures, but I just love them. :)

The final countdown

My due date is one week from yesterday and I am sooooo ready for this baby girl to get here!

Here is a picture of my 39 week belly...

39 weeks

The cute little belly shot didn't seem very fitting for me lately, though. So I took a more appropriate one:

A typical sight

You can usually find me on the couch with my feet elevated (sometimes with bags of frozen corn on them for the swelling) and my laptop to keep me company. Lots of pillows are also necessary. :)

I really can't complain too much. Besides a few annoying discomforts, I'm still feeling quite well for being 9 months pregnant. I'm mostly just tired and lacking motivation to keep up with the household chores. My kids think I'm pretty boring lately, too. :)

As for a baby update, she has dropped, she's measuring just right, she moves around like crazy, and she's strong. Besides the fact that we still haven't come up with a suitable name, we are quite ready to meet this little girl!

Last Week

We had a bit of fun last week, which I'm sure the boys thought was a nice change of pace from all the sitting around at home we've been doing lately. (I'm not up for much these days.)

On Thursday, we made a last minute decision to go to the Mariners game with Ben's boss and his family.

We figured the boys would love it and they sure did! Ben's boss has three little boys and they all had fun playing together on the bleachers and cheering extra loud.

We ended up leaving in the 7th inning just because I couldn't stand to sit on those bleacher seats any longer, but the Mariners were ahead 8-2, so we didn't think we'd be missing much. :)

On Friday, we had play group at the park in the morning and then I took the boys to the Children's Museum at a local mall that evening. It's free on the first Friday of every month, so we met our friends Maria and Reese there and the boys played their hearts out. They had some pretty cool stuff!

I just love this picture of the two of them. It makes me smile every time I look at it. :)

*Excuse the fuzzy pics... all I had was my phone.

On Saturday, we had a beautiful, warm, sunny day so we finally had a chance to go check out the pool. The boys had a blast, of course, and I even got in and swam a little. Sitting there in the sun with the breeze blowing while the kids splashed and played was heavenly. I think we just might find ourselves down there almost every day until this baby comes!

Happy birthday to us!

Most people who read this blog already know that Ben and I share the same birthday (two years apart) and it always falls near Memorial Day weekend. This year, it was the Thursday before Memorial Day. We didn't do much on Thursday because Ben was at the office all day, but both of our presents arrived in the mail that day! Ben got me the silhouette I've been dying for.

I've already had some fun with it, making thank you cards for the baby shower...

...and prettying up the kitchen a little bit.

Ben picked out a fancy-shmancy skimmer for his fish tank, which he seemed to be excited about. I think he has been a bit weirded out about turning the big 3-0. :)

This year, we decided our birthday weekend was the perfect excuse to squeeze one last date in before baby gets here. It has been forever since we've been on a date and it was really nice to have some time to ourselves!

We spent the afternoon on Saturday at the Seattle Aquarium. Ben has had a real interest in saltwater aquariums for the past couple of years and he's been dying to go check it out. The exhibits were pretty cool and we both really enjoyed it.

This octopus was huge! I wish I had gotten Ben in the picture as a size reference.

This puffer fish was huge, too... like 3 feet long!05 28 010web

They had a room that was a big dome with fish swimming all around and over us.

The usual exhibits were cool, but I was really excited that they also had seals and otters! They were really fun to watch.

This guy (gal?) kept swimming over to the crowd and standing straight up like this to stare at us before swimming away again.

After the aquarium, we walked along the waterfront for a bit.

Then, we ended the night with dinner at Red Robin. I love their strawberry lemonade with the real strawberries in in it. Mmmm....

It was still early when we went to pick up the kids, so we decided to go see Kung Fu Panda 2. The only time that worked for us was the 3D time, so the boys and I saw our very first 3D movie.

What a perfect way to spend my birthday... a date with my man AND some quality time with my boys. :)

Memorial Day was pretty low key for us. They opened the pool in our complex for Memorial Day weekend, so we were hoping to use it, but it was cloudy and cold. We went for a hike instead.

05 31 Hike

The boys thought it was great... especially since we stopped for them to throw rocks in the river. I'm proud to say that I did really well with the hike, too. Even on the uphill parts. I'll admit I was pretty sore afterwords, but it was worth it.

It was so nice for Ben to have a day off to be home with us. I think we all enjoyed that part of Memorial Day the most. :)

Baby Shower!

We had only lived here about a month or so when Aubrey, a girl at church, offered to throw me a baby shower. I was surprised since it's my third baby and I didn't really know her very well... or anyone else for that matter. When I said as much, she waved it away saying it's my first girl and what better way to get to know people. So, a baby shower was scheduled.

I was a little worried no one would come. Why would they bother for someone they didn't know? But it was quite the little party and the ladies who hosted it did a beautiful job. I was so touched that everyone would show up, and they all gave me such nice gifts.

It was a desert shower and the food was soooo yummy!

We played a couple games, which I was no good at, but were fun anyway. This is Kelly trying to find safety pins in the beans and rice with her eyes closed.

The winner found 7 safety pins in 30 seconds. I found two. :)

This picture is for my friend Meggan who wanted to see all the fun girly things I got. This little princess is going to be spoiled. :)

I'm so blessed to have such generous people in my life right now! I think I have everything I need for baby girl now. We're ready as we'll ever be.

I finally finished the quilt! Go take a peek. :)
