My awesome chocolate chip cookies.

My parents can vouch for the fact that I am not anything special when it comes to baking. My mother might recall the time I caught the oven on fire because I didn't put enough flower in the chocolate chip cookies (which turned into a big puddle and spilled onto the bottom of the oven).

Well, I really haven't improved much. I made chocolate chip cookies on Saturday night and this is what they looked like (and these were the nicest looking ones of the whole bunch):

In fact, this is how they always look.

So why do I keep making them? Why not give up?

Well, believe it or not, Ben's primary class (11-12 year old boys) LOVES them. They call them "smoosh cookies."

I made two big Ziploc bags bags full and this was all that was left by the time church was over:

Ben informed me that one of his students said to tell me that he loves me and that I'm "the best cook".

Maybe I am better at baking chocolate chip cookies than I thought.
