1st grade!

My little Evan is in first grade this year! I can't believe it! The school he went to last year was only for kindergarteners, so he got to move up to the big elementary school this year. When I picked him up on the first day, he said he had a good day but "it was a LOT of work". I think he just needs to get used to the switch from half-day kindergarten to all-day first grade. :)

Evan is such a smart little guy. He reads so well and loves math. The day before we left for vacation, he brought home a chapter book from the school library and insisted that he was going to read it. I figured he'd give it a try and realize it was too hard. Well, not only has he been reading it, but he's been comprehending the story and enjoying it!

I sure love this little guy. :)
